Back in 2007 there was a regulation in the Law on Medicinal Products in Human Medicine that included restriction, which negatively influenced the business of the pharmacy owners - 1 pharma expert had the right to own only 1 pharmacy in case he/she also worked there.
Extremely unfriendly public environment against retail pharmacies, which forced us to use the full amount of services and ideas. There was certain need to clarify the case about art. 222 in the Law on Medicinal Products in Human Medicine and its negative results on society.
Establishing and maintaining contact with relevant institutions and NGOs;
Media relations that covered 1:1 meetings with key journalists, constant advising, preparing & distributing of the Association’s official statements on the topic, and constant media debate among the opponents about the arising problems for the patients;
Identifying and communicating through media real business case studies of the pharmacies;
Including ambassadors for the needed changes like the ombudsman Ginyo Ganev;
Roundtable for the members of Parliament, the business and relevant institutions to discuss the issue;
More than 150 articles, including “page one” materials and more than 80 interviews with spokespeople in leading media outlets.
Art. 222 was amended by the Bulgarian Parliament.
